CIRES: Content Based Image REtrieval System Help

The graphic below shows the main page of CIRES. The CIRES image database has thousands of images. These have been hierarchically classified into various classes and subclasses. Each of the underlined links leads to a query page for that particular subclass. Queries can be initiated from that page.  More information about this feature can be found here.

The three major image categories are as follows.

• Manmade: This category contains images of manmade structures and objects, such as buildings, aircraft, etc.

• Natural: This category contains images ranging from birds to landscapes.

• Textures: This category contains images of textured objects.
